Placebo-- Nocebo

We have all heard of the placebo effect, especially in a medicinal context. Just believing something will work enhances the chances of it doing so.
Sometimes even taking dummy pills may help if you believe they are genuine. There is also now a recognition of the reverse phenomenon. This is the nocebo effect. This means that just believing the worst will happen enhances the chance of that happening. You may get more side effects or bad reaction to pills.
I have observed both things happening in friends and family. The question not asked in both situations is the important one. What does either effect mean for the nature of our consciousness? The short answer is that it implies that our consciousness, what we think, has an effect on the nature of our reality. In this case albeit in a relatively small way.
The next question is then-what else is our consciousness constructing? That is of course  is the big one. What do you think?
